H E L L O A V I A T O R S
Thank you for visiting my page. My name is Dave Herwig, a Gold Seal CFI/II, MEI, AGI, ATP rated pilot. I am located in Fayetteville, NC area where I retired from the US Army. I spent 24 years serving my country and for the majority of those years I jumped from airplanes. I spent many years with the world famous 82nd Airborne Division and ended my career as a parachute demonstrator on the US Army Parachute Team, Golden Knights. Though I still jump from planes, most days you will find me flying the planes. I earned my private pilot certificate while on active duty not knowing or even wanting to become a flight instructor. After I retired, I earned my additional certificates and ratings by utilizing my VA Benefits.
If you are a veteran, do not hesitate to reach out, I will be happy to answer any questions concerning your VA Benefits for flight training.
I have accumulated over 3300+ hours of flight instruction in the past 4 years. I really enjoy watching a student achieve their aviation goals. It’s been very rewarding personally, especially for a brand new student become a private pilot. I did take a break from flight instruction for a while and tried my hat at the airlines as a CRJ-700/900 pilot at a regional airline. I soon realized that my true calling was flight instruction, so I returned back to the flight school and haven’t looked back.

Whether you are looking to get started in aviation or wanting to earn a new rating, I will give you all the knowledge and experience I can to help you succeed on your aviation journey. I have sent over 100+ aviators to their check ride from private pilot to flight instructor, with nearly a 95% pass rate.

So, if you are ready to begin your aviation journey or continue on to the next rating, please use the contact page and let’s get you up in the air!
